PostSubject: Module 5- The Court Process , Difficulty- Novice   Wed Apr 29, 2009 6:37 am

The court process ensures balanced law and usage of law.

The Code is the subject. All other matters are not of the court.

1-Charging a Spartan
Any Spartan who believes another has violated code is responsible for reporting the violation to the court. Once this report has been placed, the suspect will be considered charged.

2- The Plea
After the suspect has been charged, the Duchess will ask the suspect to plea in each case. If the suspect pleas guilty then the Duchess will order the penalty. If the suspect pleas not guilty, then the case will move to the trial process.

3- Trial
All of the evidence will be placed forth to cover facts about the case. The Duchess will go over the facts and draw a conclusion. At all times the Code must be upheld. If a Code violation can be proven, the penalty must be placed. The Viscount will go over the facts proving guilt. The Baron will go over facts proving innocence.

4- The Verdict
This will be the moment of voicing the courts findings.

~Punishment System~
Each code will have a rating to determine punishment ranges and types. Then followed by a literal translation of the code..

Severity Rating (SR)

-NP (No Punishment)- This rating is applies to moral codes

-SH (Shamed)- Loss of respect, possible demotion

-BT (Ban Time)- Followed by a number showing number of days banned

-TB (Total Ban)- Banned from Sparta with appeals open

-TBC (Total Ban Completed)- No chance of appeals or ever returning to Sparta

-ST (Service Type)- Services to balance an offense
--ST1- To serve a new player for a set amount of time
--ST2- To serve a Spartan for a set amount of time
--ST3- To complete a set task or tasks

-EQ (Equal Punishment)- A punishment equal to the violation harbored.

Strike System
Each code will have a number placed after an X to show the amount of times this code can be broken by a person before additional methods of punishment are placed. Then followed by the next method.

Examples of The Rating System-
SH X4 TB= Shame if violated, if violated 4 times, person will be banned w/ chance of appeal
BT X2 TBC= Banned for set amount of time, if violated again, person will be completely banned w/o chance of appeal
